Residential Kitchen

During the early winter of my sophomore year, I was in charge of designing a kitchen/dining room space in a modern household. By incorporating various aspects of color brightness and evenness in bright, medium, and dark tones, I utilized different types of wood, marble, and metal to design a kitchen. The most challenging part of the project was designing the kitchen island so that the countertop extended beyond the cabinets to provide seating. I resolved this by adjusting the number of base cabinets while maintaining the marble countertop, finding a practical solution to the issue. I additionally kept in mind the small triangle between the sink, stove, and refrigerator, and tried to make the three as close as possible while still allowing counter space in between.
