Indoor/Outdoor Mall

For my final project in my junior year, I was given a choice to build a design that would benefit my high school’s township. Although my township has nice beaches and restaurants, it lacks commercial and financial structures such as popular clothing and jewelry brands. Because of this, my colleague Cate and I constructed a lakeside mall, with outdoor and indoor elements. The food court outside is inspired by Faneuil Hall in Boston, as there is a small marketplace inside. The mall consists of two floors and is able to house 54 different stores. The hardest part of this project was incorporating the escalators at the northeast and northwest sides, as I have never needed to work with components spanning across two floors. By opening up the surface above and selecting multiple different settings under the escalator, I was able to successfully add the components, allowing customers to access the second floor as well.
