Rambla Climate House

With inspiration from Andres Jaque’s house in Murcia, Spain, fellow aspiring architect Henry Dahl and I built a 1/4” = 1’0 scale model of the house using cardboard, wood, plants, and construction paper. Additionally, we enhanced the floor plan by providing a collage aesthetic design to it on Adobe Illustrator. We began by finding textures similar to those found in the original Rambla house, and substituted them into the wall segments and floor of the house. We next found the house plan of the room assignments, and put some furniture accordingly. The greenery and shrubbery reflect the dry, desert-like environment that the house was built on. The hardest part of this project was balancing the house on wooden rods, and we solved this issue by finding ways to elevate the house to put the rods on more easily.
